INFORMATION: Course Structure and Course Elements
I considered various teaching models: this course is a pure online self study course. Meaning: you go at your own pace. You will continue to have course access for as long as you like.
The conversational type of presentation I am engaging in with Katarina Lundgren may seem longwinded to some, but I find it beneficial in presenting various viewpoints and perspectives. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at: [email protected].
Course Structure:
After looking at some definitions, we delve into the various traumatherapeutic approaches. Due to these videos being part of the pEATT curriculum, you will see a particular focus on psychodynamically based approaches and techniques.
From there, we take a closer look at "Dissociation" and "Structural Dissociation", which can most often be seen in humans who have experienced severe trauma beginning in early childhood. Starting with a model that explains these occurrences in layman's terms, we then dare to present a more humanistic, seemingly less clinical view.
Overall, you will gain more insight into trauma-sensitive and trauma-informed work.
DISCUSSION BOARDS: The select times I have enabled discussion boards are there for you to voice your opinion, concerns and thoughts. Please keep in mind that I will not allow discrimination or derogatory engagements and trust you to keep these policies in mind. Even though the discussion boards are designed to facilitate group discussions focusing on specific questions related to the information in some units, I trust you will use them as you see fit with as much respect and regard as you yourself wish to be met with. To avoid "lecturing", I will interact with you on the discussion board but not as "teacher", but participant.
Thank you - and I wish you a great learning experience!
